Wellness Health Screening
It has recently been recognized that the most important treatment for heart disease is prevention. Heart disease has no obvious signs and unfortunately, for most people, the first sign of heart disease is a heart attack or stroke.
Wellness screening helps to detect conditions that may lead to heart disease before it causes a life threatening emergency.
Free Community Clinics
Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services, in partnership with Pfizer Canada, provides free health screening clinics. Clinics are held on the last Sunday of each month at
#18 Firehall from 9:30am to 4:00pm. No appointment is necessary - just drop in. The clinic takes about 20 minutes and provides blood cholesterol and blood pressure screening. Results are reviewed by our firefighter technicians, and each person receives a record card with results you can take to your doctor.

Workplace Wellness Clinics
The Vancouver Firefighters CPR + First-aid Program can bring testing equipment to your work site to provide screening for your employees. As in our community clinics, all employees receive blood cholesterol and blood-pressure screening. Please contact our program coordinator for details.
